Rocket Fan update

We heard back from Harbor Breeze this week and it turns out they are NOT the manufacturer of the Rocket Fan. They were very helpful and told us to call the Lowe's 1-800 service line.

The Lowe's folks were really helpful and gave our info to the Waters Ave. store, where we bought the fan. Someone from the store called within an hour and told us that, while there is no replacement kit for that model, we can bring our fan back (without the box) and they will exchange it for a different fan.

Now it's up to us. What do we want to do?

Ok, googled and found your blog. We too bought this fan for our son and I'm having the same issue...THERE'S NO LIGHT!! What did you ultimately do? I will keep reading. I hope you posted your outcome. My son is 4 and LOVES this fan. I'm sad for him because I hate to give it up. It was on sale for 32.00 because they stopped carrying it...should have known something was up.

We also have this fan in our boy's room! I'm having the hardest time finding replacement parts for it. I called the 1-800 number and was told they discontinued it and replacement parts can't be ordered! We need a new arm bracket that holds the blade on in order for the fan to work again! I hate to throw it away since we spent a good deal of money on it!

Mandye, there IS no resolution yet. We put other lamps in his room so that we can see, but they are up high where he can't reach them. A few weeks ago we were at Lowe's and I told him that I would buy him another fan -- but he didn't see any that he liked.

Jillian, I would be happy to send you any parts you need from this fan.

It's SUCH a shame, to make this amazing fan and then for it to NOT light up the room! Bad design!!!

I wanted to buy this fan for my son, but it was discontinued before I got around to it. Now I'm glad things worked out that way.

I ended up getting the Hunter Discovery ceiling fan from Home Depot which I have not installed yet. I don't think it's as cool looking as the rocket fan, but hopefully it puts out more light. And if he ever gets sick of it, the reversible blades are black on the other side, and the globe can be replaced with something plain.

I was searching for a add on kit for this fan that I too purchased, and found your blog. I installed the light and when I turned it on, I could not believe it was nothing more than a night light. My son wants to keep it, but he never even stays in his room because there is not enough light.

I just bought this fan, at a consignment sale, and realized it didn't have lights! It appears to be in brand-new condition; in fact, I don't think it's ever been installed. I probably paid more than I should have for it ($75), but it was so cute! I feel stupid now :-( I was supposed to be looking for light fixtures, but with a three-year-old, you sometimes forget to look at things. If anyone is interested in it, you can email me at: jdruss703@yahoo.com. Thanks!

I have a brand new rocket fan in the box. Bought it for about 175$ at Lowes about 5 years ago, but never installed it, now my sons are too old to really enjoy it.

We have been using this fan for about 3 years... and same problem! You need a flashlight to see to get to the dozen lamps we had to buy to provide light. My son loves it- as a night light- but as a practical lighting source- nothing. =/ I am looking online for something that he will enjoy as much- if we find one I will be willing to GIVE this to anyone who wants it- email me at inspired_pieces@yahoo.com if interested. =)

We need two brackets that hold on the blades and the accompanying screws. Does anyone have any of these?

Looking for one arm that attaches blade to fan. Can't locate parts anywhere for it, so I hope someone might be able to help. My boys love the Rocket fan and would hate to replace an entire fan for this one part. If anyone can help, please let me know. Thanks!

Kert - Have emailed, but have not heard back. We would be interested in buying the fan blade arms if you still have them - or knowing where we can get some from.

Thank you

Help!!! Does anybody have a spare blade for the Harbor Breeze rocket fan? I sold mine on Ebay and the buyer said it "broke" during shipment. Not buying that story but she sent it back. Now I have a perfectly good fan but need a spare blade. Anybody's help would be appreciated.

Blaheha2844 said...

Or, if someone is still interested...I will sell my remaining unbroken fan blades to someone who needs them. The whole fan works perfect, except for the one broken arm.
